UrbanKnit is an independent label that creates one of a kind handmade fashion accessories including bags and scarves. All products are made using African prints (Ankara), Aso-oke sourced mainly from West African markets. These are combined with leather, satin, silks and other materials to make the range of purses, bags and accessories. Dolapo James the creative designer is an Architect who in 2003 developed her hobby from a part-time endeavour into a successful full time business. These handmade zippered sleeves are padded with protective layers and come in a range of vibrant colours in Urbanknit’s fabrics of choice – African print (Ànkárá), Nigerian Batiks (Àdìre) and hand-woven fabric (Aso-Òkè).
